Police in Maine are searching for an armed suspect who ditched his vehicle near a boat ramp and is believed to be on foot in the area.
The suspect, Robert Card, is considered to be dangerous and is wanted in connection with a shooting at a bowling alley in Brunswick earlier today.
According to police, Card was last seen walking along Route 196, which is near the boat ramp where he left his vehicle.
Police have deployed a large number of officers to the area, including SWAT teams and K-9 units.
They are also using helicopters and drones to search for Card.
Police Chief Scott Meserve of the Brunswick Police Department issued a statement urging residents to stay indoors and to call 911 immediately if they see Card.
“We are asking the public to please stay indoors and to call 911 immediately if they see Robert Card,” Chief Meserve said. “He is considered to be armed and dangerous.”
Chief Meserve also said that police are working with other law enforcement agencies to search for Card, including the Maine State Police and the FBI.
“We are working closely with our partners in law enforcement to bring Robert Card to justice,” Chief Meserve said.
“We are committed to protecting the safety of our community.”
The search for Card is ongoing and police have not yet released any further information.

Police Statements
In addition to the statement from Chief Meserve, the Maine State Police have also issued a statement about the search for Card.
“The Maine State Police is aware of the ongoing search for Robert Card in Brunswick,” the statement said. “We are providing assistance to the Brunswick Police Department and other law enforcement agencies involved in the search.”
The statement also urged residents to stay indoors and to call 911 if they see Card.

Community Response
The community of Brunswick is on edge as police continue to search for Card.
Many residents are staying indoors and avoiding the area where Card is believed to be.
“It’s scary,” said one resident who lives near Route 196. “I’m not letting my kids go outside until the police catch him.”
Another resident said that she is worried about the safety of her family.
“I’m really worried about my family,” she said. “I hope the police catch him soon.“
