The government has recently made the decision to withdraw the security detail assigned to former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta at her residences in Gatundu and Maiga.
This move, which took place at approximately 5pm today, involved the removal of officers from the General Service Unit and Administration Police, who were instructed to leave their posts and report to the nearest police station.
First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta’s security withdrawn
Surprisingly, officials have revealed that Mama Ngina was not informed about this decision prior to its implementation.
The lack of notification raises questions about the transparency and communication between the government and the former First Lady.
It worth noting that prior to the initial recall of her security detail last year, Mamaina had a total of 30 officers responsible for safeguarding all her properties.
Among them, the highest-ranking officer held the position of chief inspector.
However, following the previous recall, she was left with only eight officers in total, with the most senior among them being a senior sergeant. Now, even these remaining officers have been recalled, leaving Mama Ng without any dedicated security personnel.
This development raises concerns about the safety and well-being Mama Ngina, considering her status a former First Lady and her familial connection to former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The withdrawal of her security detail without prior notice suggests a lack of respect for her personal security and may lead to increased vulnerability.
The reasons behind the government’s decision to withdraw Mamaina’s security remain unclear. It is essential for the government to provide a transparent explanation for this action and address any potential risks or concerns regarding her safety.
