Glenwood Springs, Colorado – Authorities have found a 22-year-old armed man dead dressed in black-colored tactical clothing, bearing patches, at an amusement park called Caverns Adventure Park in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
The man was heavily armed with a semi-automatic rifle and a semi-automatic handgun, and he had multiple loaded magazines for both weapons.
He was wearing body armor and what appeared to be a ballistic helmet.

Additionally, multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were discovered with the man and in a vehicle.
The investigation is still ongoing and very active, but officials believe that the man may have been planning to carry out an attack at the amusement park.
The park was closed to the public on Tuesday, August 2, 2023, while authorities investigated the scene.
“We are still trying to piece together what happened here,” said Glenwood Springs Police Chief Terry Wilson. “But what is clear is that this man was heavily armed and prepared for violence. We are grateful that no one else was injured.“
Wilson said that the man was found dead by a park employee on Tuesday morning.
