Olivia Noelle Eskens, 25, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 12, 2023, at her apartment in New York City. Miss Eskens, formerly of Lincoln, Nebraska, was the daughter of Mike Eskens and Kari Jakub Eskens.
Education
Olivia was a young woman with boundless energy, compassion, and determination. She graduated from Lincoln Pius X High School in 2015 and pursued her dream of designing cosmetics. In 2019, she earned her Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and later that year moved to New York City to attend Manhattan College for her Master’s degree. In 2021, she began working as a Technical Product Design Lead – Make-Up for Avon Global.
Family
Olivia is survived by her parents, brother, Andrew Eskens, and sister, Adelyn Eskens, all of Lincoln. Her grandparents include Albin “Jake” Jakub and Jeanne (Jambor) Jakub of Schuyler and Marlene (Schmidt) Eskens of Coleridge, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
An avid astronomy enthusiast, Olivia named her pet cats Mr. Hubble and Spitzer after two space telescopes. Her bright personality and kindness touched hundreds of lives, including those of her sorority sisters, gymnastics family, and friends in both Lincoln and New York.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at US Bank to support causes that Olivia was passionate about, including pet adoption and women in engineering.

Visitation and rosary were held on February 23, 2023, at St. Peter Catholic Church, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial on February 24, 2023.
