William P. Lawrence, a longtime resident of Kingston, passed away peacefully at his home on July 30, 2022, at the age of 77.
Born in Haverhill to William A. and Eva (Blanchette) Lawrence, he attended local schools before joining the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.
Bill served as a Specialist 4 stationed in Korea and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Marksman Medal, and Rifle M-1 Badge. Upon his honorable discharge in 1963, he continued to serve in the National Guard until 1968.
Bill worked for several years as a delivery and maintenance man for Currier’s Furniture of Hampton, NH, and was an active member of Mary Mother of the Church Parish, St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, and the Saint Jude Council of the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and making improvements to his home. Bill will be fondly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Barbara (Becker) Lawrence, their two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannette M. and Robert Miles of Salisbury, MA, and Suzette T. and James Haydock of Seabrook, NH, and his grandchildren Jonathan Lawrence, Timothy Miles, Shane Haydock, and Kayla Haydock.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 10 AM at Mary Mother of The Church of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish, followed by military honors rendered by the U.S. Army. Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home of Plaistow, NH, are in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
