About the AMBER Alert
The AMBER Alert is a nationwide system that is used to help law enforcement quickly locate and recover abducted children.
The AMBER Alert was created in 1996 after the kidnapping and murder of 9-year-old Amber Hagerman in Arlington, Texas.
The AMBER Alert system is activated when law enforcement believes that a child has been abducted and is in danger.
The alert includes the child’s name, age, description, and any other information that may help to identify the child or the abductor.
The AMBER Alert is a valuable tool that has helped to recover hundreds of abducted children.
If you see a child who matches the description of an AMBER Alert, do not hesitate to call 911.
